/ Aramaki Rose Garden
Aramaki Rose Garden
This park boasts a total area of 1.7 ha that is home to 250 types of international roses and 10,000 individual plants that bloom each spring. Inside the park you'll find architecture that brings out the beauty of the flowers, such as antique brick planters and columns, and white buildings with Spanish-tile roofs that fill the air with a Southern European atmosphere. Other sights include the Hometown Rose Corner, crafted by local rose artists and filled with the Amatsu-otome and about 20 other varieties; the Hasselt Corner; the Peace Monument Plaza, the Underground Hall, and more. The nearby Midori no Plaza, meanwhile, holds various exhibits and lectures about flora.
The best time to visit for spring roses is mid-May to mid-June; for autumn roses, mid-October to mid-November is best.
