Raikō-ji Temple
Said to have been built at the wish of the wife of Minamoto no Mitsunaka by their child the monk Genken (childhood name: Bijomaru). Also known as “hydrangea temple”, these hydrangeas started as a gift of 100 plants from the Kawanishi City Tourism Association when the temple was rebuilt in 1974, and now 500 plants come into bloom during the rainy season. Minamoto no Yorimitsu was also a child of Minamoto no Mitsunaka and appears in numerous monster killing legends.
