Osaka Aoyama Museum of History and Literature
A museum opened in April 1999, established as an attached facility of Osaka Aoyama Junior College (Minoh City, Osaka Prefecture) in the Hokusestsu Campus (Kawanishi City, Hyogo Prefecture). The external appearance makes use of castle wall architecture as a heritage of Japanese culture, while the white castle tower modeled on Azuchi Castle is unique. There are around 5000 precious cultural properties which are archived and exhibited, including 16 national treasures/important cultural properties such as Tosa Nikki written by Fujiwara no Tameie (National Treasure), Meigetsuki written by Fujiwara no Teika (Important Cultural Property), Jojanjari no Haha Shu (Important Cultural Property), Godaigo Tenno Shinkan Shosoku (Important Cultural Property) and Sen no Rikyū Shojo Haba. Exhibitions and lectures are also held. From the observation room the towns of Kawanishi and Itami between Osaka and Kobe can be seen to the south, while to the north the ancient object of worship Mt. Myoken can be seen in the north. The tract where the museum is located is at the junction between the Tanba Highway and the Nose Highway, and it is said that writers and artists visited here frequently since ancient times.
