Senjoji Lake
A dam whose water source is the clear streams of the Kurokawa and Aonogawa rivers that flow from mountain regions such as Senjojisan mountain. An artificial lake made by the Aono Dam that was completed in June 1988, it was named after the nearby Senjojisan mountain. With a variety of small and large parks and lake side roads being maintained in the vicinity such as Damsite Park, Higashiura Park, Shimoaono Park and All Natural Fish Path Park, it has become a restful place for local people to enjoy barbecues and fishing. Many migratory birds come in winter.
There is the Aono Dam Memorial Museum in the Damsite Park, where materials related to the dam are exhibited such as an exhibition of buried cultural properties like Sue ware that were dug up in the area.
