Oimatsu Sake Lees Curry
As part of its efforts to develop products for local brands, Itami City wanted to develop products that would promote Itami as the birthplace of refined sake. To achieve this, the city approached the sake brewery Itami Oimatsu Brewing to develop a product using sake lees, and the commercialization of this product was realized. The product focuses on the flavor of sake lees.
The curry comes in a retort pouch and has a strong flavor of sake lees. Locally produced and locally consumed, the product takes special care to use ingredients that are produced in Itami. In addition to sake lees and “Oimatsu Tansui,” a famous water used in sake brewing, it is made with Japanese deep-fried tofu pouches from Tajimaya Foods, starch from Matsutani Chemical Industry, and local onions grown in the city. Using Japanese beef tendon as the main ingredient, sake lees and other Japanese ingredients are used to create this medium-spicy curry.
