After being planted in the spring, the Japanese yam is nurtured by the summer sun and cool autumn weather. It is a time-consuming crop that takes about eight months to harvest. It is precisely because of their long slumber in the soil that makes them so nutritious and delicious. Produced and nurtured in the fertile soil and climate of Sanda, the Japanese yam is a popular specialty product, with nearly 40 tons of yam shipped each year.
