In the Moshi district in the northernmost part of Sanda City, tea cultivation has flourished since ancient times, taking advantage of the cool climate at an altitude of 500 meters. At Tea shop Chakobo Kirameki, which is located in the district, a tea picking event is held every May for the year’s first harvest. Locals and people from out of town flock to take part. The tea is hand-picked in the “one bud and two leaves” style, where only the first two leaves on the tip of the branch are picked to obtain the best quality tea. Join us and experience tea picking under the vast blue sky while listening to the chirping of birds.
