Midorigaoka Park
This 7.8 ha park is the oldest in the city. Its structures bring a sense of calm and quiet; the Korokan was built using a combination of Japanese architectural techniques, and the bowers and gazebos were presented from Foshan, China.
The Korokan has a hip-and-gable roof that is an example of sukiya architecture, and the building is a public hall used for city cultural promotion events and international exchange. A tea ceremony (fee required) is held every March, April, October, and November. The park also has a plum forest, with its 400 trees of 50 species reflected in the pond's surface, and holds an outdoor picnic event each February to admire the blossoms. Visitors will also find beautiful cherry blossoms, hydrangeas, and other seasonal flowers.
