Togakushi Shrine
This one room Kasuga-style shrine was built in 1524 (Daiei 4). It is the oldest building in the town and has been designated as an important cultural property by the nation. It is a regularly proportioned building that is rare for a Kasuga-style main shrine of the Muromachi Period in that it lacks sumiki corner rafters, making it a precious relic that clearly shows the distinctive traits of the era. The vivid colors of the main building are impressive, while in 1989 it was dismantled and repaired to restore it to the original appearance because the tilting of the building was noticeable. Every year there is a spring festival on March 10, summer festival on July 17, autumn festival on October 17, and a commemorative festival on December 10.
