Behind Nakayama-dera Temple in the Kitanakayama National Forest is this natural recreation forest, as designated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries; the Kitanakayama Yasuragi-no-Michi hiking course is located almost in the center of the city of Takarazuka, leading through a valley. There are a few set trails, popular among local hikers. An outlook point, promenade, and other facilities are also available, and there are plenty of ways to enjoy the hike: visiting the "couple's rock," the inner sanctuary of the temple, or Yasuragi Plaza; enjoying birdwatching; or simply taking in the mountain air.
