A baked confection that tickles the heart because of its tiny, plump shape. It uses “Asadori no Megumi” (Bounty of Morning Harvest) figs, known as a specialty of Kawanishi, as the main ingredient. Delivered straight from the field after harvest, the figs are carefully boiled down to a compote to prevent them from becoming mushy, and then semi-dried over low heat. To bring out their rich aroma, they are turned into a paste with white wine, kneaded with almond powder, and baked slowly. Although the baked confection itself is aromatic, the freshness and fragrance of the figs still stand out.
